New Clients – Getting Started
Booking your first visit
Step 1: Schedule a free phone consultation with the doctor
Before you come in for your first visit, we want to make sure this is the right office for you. During this free phone consultation (15-20 minutes), you can briefly discuss your health and wellbeing concerns, your health goals, and what you’re looking for with seeking chiropractic care. Together, we’ll determine if you’re a good fit for care in our office.
Click HERE to schedule your free 15-minute phone consultation.
Step 2: Schedule your first visit and fill out our online health questionnaire
At the end of your free phone consultation, we may proceed to book your first in-office visit – these must be scheduled through the doctor.
Once your appointment is booked, you will be e-mailed a link to our online health history questionnaire.
Please take the time to give thoughtful and thorough responses to provide us with a whole complete picture of your health and history. We ask that you complete the questionnaire at least a day before your first in-person appointment to give us time to review it and prepare for your visit.
Step 3: Your first visit
Your first in-person visit consists of:
- Review of your health concerns and history (from questionnaire)
- Chiropractic exam to assess the state of your nervous system
- Postural analysis
- Your first chiropractic adjustment session
- Time: 45-60 minutes
- Wear comfortable clothing (and SOCKS, please!) and remember to fill out your intake paperwork online before your appointment! (Contact us if you are having trouble with the online paperwork. If you do not fill out the paperwork beforehand, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to complete it in the office.)

Insurance Info:
Dr. Masae is an out-of-network provider with all insurances.
This means we do not work directly with insurance, however, we can give you a detailed bill (called a “super bill”) with all the codes and charges after your visit which you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
The primary technique that Dr. Masae practices, NetworkSpinal, is a non-covered service for Medicare, as this light-touch method is considered to be a “non-manipulative treatment”. Therefore, Medicare cannot be used to cover chiropractic services at this office.
Why We Don’t Work with Insurance
At Bodhi Tree, we focus on optimizing your health and wellness, not just treating symptoms. Insurance companies decide how many visits you’re “allowed” without seeing you or understanding your unique needs. Most policies only cover
care when symptoms are present and benefits typically end just as you’re feeling better—before underlying issues are fully healed.
This creates a cycle of temporary relief followed by relapse. True healing happens after symptoms resolve, requiring care that addresses root causes rather than just managing flare-ups. Our independent model allows us to provide the comprehensive care needed for lasting results.
We don’t want costs to get in the way of you receiving the care you need. If costs are a concern, please inquire about our Sliding Scale program for reduced rates based on income for people who qualify. Book a free phone consultation to discuss concerns directly with Dr. Masae.
